Channel Catfish- 15" Min. length limit -2 fish per day

The channel catfish will be the mainstay of the fish population at Lebo City Lake. Heavy stockings of 8" to 10" channel catfish and an intensive feeding program will provide excellent numbers and rapid growth rates. Catfish over five pounds should be common with some growing well over 10 pounds.

Largemouth Bass

18" length limit-2 fish per day

The lake contains an excellent Largemouth Bass population. The clear water and brush piles provide excellent habitat for Bass. Restrictive creel and length limits will help maintain good numbers and growth. If reproduction is excessive, the length limit
may be changed to a slot to allow harvest of small Bass. The Largemouth Bass will not reach 18" until 2002.

Walleye- 15" Min. length limit -2 fish per day

The lake contains a good population of Walleye. They will provide trophy fishing and will also be utilized to control panfish numbers. Since natural reproduction will not take place, there will be approximately 750 Walleye, 8" long stocked each fall to maintain adequate numbers. The Walleye will not reach 18" until 2002. Walleye can be caught on live bait as well as jigs
and crank baits worked near the bottom.

Wiper- 18" Min. length Limit -2 fish per day

Perhaps one of the best fighting fish in Kansas waters, the Wiper is a cross between the sea run Striped Bass and the fresh water White Bass. They can reach sizes up to ten pounds in this lake. Supplemental feed will allow them to grow past ten pounds. If you catch a fish that looks like a White Bass in this lake it will most likely be a Wiper. Wipers of 6 to 8 inches will be stocked in the lake each fall.

Black Crappie- 10' Min. length limit -10 fish per day

The Black Crappie is more suited for clear water and small impoundments than White Crappie. The Black Crappie should flourish in the lake. The abundant habitat in this lake will ensure that there is always good reproduction and regulations will provide good management to allow the crappie to reach quality size. The lake should provide good oppurtunities for crappie fishing every spring.

Smallmouth Bass-18" Min. length limits -2 fish per day

The lake will have a limited number of Small Mouth Bass. They will do well around the rock piles but numbers will be limited due to competition from other species. Any Small Mouth caught should be considered a trophy. The Small Mouth Bass will not exceed the 18" length limit until 2002.

Bluegill Sunfish- 8" Min. length limit -10 fish per day

The Bluegill is perhaps the most common panfish in Kansas and it provides many yougsters with their first fishing thrill. The Bluegill will provide excellent panfishing opportunities in the lake. Because Bluegill can be fed a supplement of dry Pellets, they can reach large sizes up to 10 inches in this lake. The high densities of predators which control the numbers and the supplemental feeding program will create a unique high quality panfishing opportunity that will produce Bluegills in excess of 8 inches.

Redear Sunfish- No length or creel limit

The Redear Sunfish prefers deeper water than the Bluegill, which it resembles in appearance, and is more difficult to catch. The Redear has a narrow band of red on the gill cover lobe and usually shows vertical barring. These fish interrupt the life cycle of some common fish parasites, enhance the panfish community and offer a challenge to anglers. They are much less abundant than the Bluegill, but can reach weights up to one pound.

Green Sunfish- No length or creel limit

The Green Sunfish is the most common sunfish in Kansas and is found in almost every body of water. Green Sunfish prefer rocky habitats along the shoreline. the Green Sunfish is distinguished from the Bluegill by having a much larger, more Bass like mouth.
